BAMBA BAKYA CROONS A SONG FOR THALAPATHY 63, IS IT A RETURN OF SIMTAANGARAN?

Thalapathy Vijay’s last film Sarkar was more in the new for its controversies than for its content. The film directed by AR Murugadoss was first embroiled in plagiarism issue which was resolved at the last minute by the team agreeing to give the credit to Varun Rajendran whose story had lots of similarities with Murugadoss’s Sarkar.

Once this got over, the scenes where the people were seen throwing away the freebies given by the government had irked the ruling party a lot which led to a lot of confusion and tension. Slowly things settled and the film made a decent business.

One of the highlights of the film was AR Rahman’s peppy music. The first single that was released was Simtaangaran which had people scratching their heads for the meaning. Later lyricist Vivek explained the meaning of this word as one who is charismatic, fearless and vibrant. In short, there are few people whom we see once and our eyes refuse to budge from them and that is 'Simtaangaran' which is supposed to suggest about Vijay's personality. But there are quite a few Tamil scholars who vouch that there is no such word in Tamil.

Now, one of the singers who had sung this number, Bamba Bakya has also crooned in Vijay 63 and it is the intro track itself. Intro numbers, especially for popular stars like Vijay, are very important and to have sung that, Bamba Bakya sure is a lucky bloke. We will wait for the song.
