‘Thalapathy 63’ May Be An Investigative Thriller

Adding to the many speculations around actor Vijay and director Atlee’s Thalapathy 63, latest reports suggest that the film is an investigative thriller.
According to a report, Thalapathy 63 is about football players who get selected to the Indian Football team, and get killed one by one. The blame falls on the coach, played by Vijay, who goes in search of the real culprit. It is said that the the film is not a usual sports drama, but an investigative thriller with sports elements. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this.
Earlier it was reported that Thalapathy 63 is a sports film with the actor playing a football team’s coach. He is being trained by a special physical trainer for his role. Sixteen women star as sports players in the film.
AR Rahman is the music composer. He said, “I have done films like this in Hollywood, but haven’t done one in south India. Director Atlee has seen my films like Pele and Lagaan. He is a passionate person and his sensibility in music is good. He listened to all my soundtracks and asked for a particular type of music in his film.”
Thalapathy 63 is the actor and director’s third collaboration after Theri and Mersal. It features a big star cast with Nayanathara, Kathir, Vivekh, Yogi Babu, Daniel Balaji, Anand Raj and many others. Pitched as a “mass entertainer with superior technical crew and the best production values”, the film is produced by Archana Kalapthi under the banner AGS Entertainments.
AR Rahman is the composer, and Vivek is the lyricist. Atlee has retained his previous film Mersal‘s team, with editor Antony Ruben, stunt director Anal Arasu, and art director Muthuraj. Sources suggest that Aalaporaan Tamizhan, a song from Mersal, is the title being considered.
